Product Description
The Hydor Ekomixo battery operated fish feeder features one touch operation that makes automatic fish feeding simple and easy. The Ekomixo requires 2 AA batteries (not included) and includes a low battery indicator feature. There are three settings for once, twice, or three times a day feeding. The food container is adjustable to release the desired amount at feeding time. It features an airline input for the use of an optional air pump to ventilate the food to prevent clumping. Got this feeder to use while I was on holidays for a couple of weeks, and returned to find two very dead fish. I'm guessing the food got wet, as the feeder was clogged. Must have happened really early on, and made a really disgusting mess.

My husband has a 55 gallon for mollies and I have a 5 gallon for a Betta. He did not want to use the automatic feeder that I recently purchased and told me to buy the tetra vacation gel for the 55 gallon. I decided to set up the auto feeder for Betta and my husband dropped the Tetra Gel in the Molly tank. We left for 4 days and when we returned the water in the auto feeder was not cloudy, Betta alive and happy while the 55 gallon tank, the water was cloudy, the mollies did not look well and I found alot of the Tetra gel residue. I purchased my feeder else where cheaper, and can say it was worth the purchase. However, there are some cons I would like to point out.
Cons:
1) Cannot set a designated time;
2) Container bit small for supposedly 1 months feeding; guess if you feed once a day it will last a month; and
3) No clamp to support to fish tank only a couple of velcro strips

Bought thsi feeder, followed instructions and it did not accept a proagram for 1,2 or 3 feedings a day. Tried 4 days in a row. Returned item and received a new one with THE SAME PROBLEM!! Now I'm not a genius but I am and engineer so I should know how to follow minor directions (granted most engineers don't follow them - initially). Piece of junk! Bought a cheap feeder at the local pet store that works.

I had this model until it broke after a year of constant use.
The main problem I had with it was that the food would occasionally become wet and clog the feeding mechanism.
My goal was to be able to leave for a month and have everything work fine. The moisture problem made it impossible. I would not purchase again.
