The Vari-Kennel is a durable, lightweight, portable kennel designed to permit fast and easy assembly without tools. The unit is molded of high-density copolymer and has a heavy gauge electro-welded steel door and ventilation grills. The door features a dual-bolt positive latch for security and the vents allow excellent air circulation. The bottom of the kennel is leak proof. The kennels nest easily to conserve storage space when not in use. Vari-Kennel is airline approved and has been endorsed by Humane Societies as a superior kennel, designed with the animal's comfort and protection in mind. These no longer come with cups or labels, must order separately. This kennel does not have handles. Cream with olive green bottom.

I bought this for a Sheltie, and they're not an aggressive breed. They pretty much do what you tell them to do. "Go in your house," means go in your house and no trying to chew your way out. Shelties are also considered medium size dogs, but I wanted a little bigger crate for my dog.
I've gone to the pet store before and purchased a crate this size, had to take it apart, and wedge it in the back seat because it didn't fit in the trunk. You're out of luck if the poor dog is with you. He gets relegated to the front seat and he doesn't travel all that well. It's hard to drive when the dog is trying to get under your seat.
Delivery was great, as per Amazon. The crate arrived in two boxes, one inside the other, in perfect condition. Easy to set up and absolutely hassle-free. This is going to be perfect for an in-home crate.

I got this crate for my older German Shepherd. I bought it at the pet store and paid $120. Set it up quickly and was pretty happy with it- it looks nice and the plastic is light which makes it somewhat easy to move around. It was used less than a month before my shepherd detroyed it. She apparently would grasp the door with her teeth and brace her front legs on the pastic just below the door and pull the door in toward her. The thin plastic just bends and the little plastic slots that hold the door pegs ripped all the way through. The metal door also became bent and mangled and would not fit back in place without bending it back into shape, which was fairly easy to do-- the metal is pretty soft. My dog is not very big or strong so I was pretty surprised to see that she completely ruined the crate so quickly. The first time she got out I had only been gone for 4 hours. After the first successful escape, she would get out every single time I left. This crate will probably work just fine for most dogs but if you have a determined escape artist like my dog, get something sturdier. I have a thick gauge wire crate now that contains the same dog...it has some bent wires but at least the dog is still inside when I get home!
