4 out of 5 stars Quiet and gets the job done   September 3, 2010

Works pretty well. My dog isn't too bothered by the noise. Grinds pretty fast. It drains batteries pretty quickly.

4 out of 5 stars Pretty good   August 25, 2010

The trimmer works as promised. I saw a review that stated it was more powerful than the PediPaws. I have used both and find them about the same. Each ground my dog's claws down without any blood. That is a good thing since I always draw blood when I trim them with clippers.

5 out of 5 stars Works Incredibly Fast!   August 23, 2010

I went from using another nail grinder for my dog to this, and there is no comparison - this is so much better. It's VERY fast at both speeds - it takes just a few seconds for each nail. It's so much easier to do the nails since it takes less time. The only difficult thing is it's noisier. But very powerful and a great deal!!

5 out of 5 stars Oster Gentle Paws Nail Trimmer!   August 19, 2010

Great nail trimmer for dogs/cats. I have a German Shepherd/Lab mix. My dog fears going to the vet's office and getting his nails clipped! They have trimmed his nails too low three times now so they started bleeding! It has taken four people pinning him down plus a muzzle to be able to clip his nails. I read the reviews on Amazon for this product and decided to give this nail trimmer a try. Completely satisfied customer! Decent price for nice product. Would recommend this model. My dog barely squirmed and it didn't seem to bother him at all. He got used to the noise quick.

2 out of 5 stars Not enough power for large breed dogs   August 11, 2010

After reading the very positive reviews on this product, I had high hopes that it would perform well when clipping the nails on my large breed dog and puppy. The grinder is not as quiet as I had imagined from previous reviews however I used the documented acclimation process and after 7 days of familiarization, my dogs did not fight me too hard when I went to work on them. I found that the grinder made little progress on their nails unless I pushed a little harder. When I pushed harder, the unit would slow down and stop. Either way, I couldn't make progress.

For smaller breeds, this might work great, but for larger breeds, be prepared to spend a LONG time grinding! Mine is going back to Amazon!
